The importance of hydration
While drinking too much water and overhydrating can be very dangerous, that doesn't mean you shouldn't drink water regularly throughout the day. Dehydration (or hypernatremia) causes many health problems. In fact, many of the symptoms of dehydration are similar to water alcoholism.
Water (H2O) make it
up more than 60 percent of the human figure, so it's no surprise that we
need a constant supply of water to function optimally. (10) Every day we lose
water due to urine, bowel movements, sweating and exhaled air. Staying hydrated
is significant because it helps prevent symptoms such as:
Diarrhea
dizziness and fainting
Brain-dog and disorientation
Bloating, abdominal distension, constipation and fluid
retention
Weakness and fatigue
Muscle Spasms and Cramps
Bad mood or mood swings
High pressure
Desires and appetite vicissitudes
Who is most likely to suffer from thirst?
People who need to be extremely careful to drink enough
water / fluids (but not too much):
Athletes, like endurance athletes, like marathon runners.
Anyone who trains for an extended period of time (more than
60-90 minutes), especially if training or competing in hot, humid climates.
People on a high-salt diet or people who don't drink enough
water.
Elderly people who may not notice the sensations associated
with thirst
People recovering from illnesses such as stomach flu or the
flu that causes diarrhea.
To everyone recovering from surgery
Babies, infants and young children who may not drink enough
fluids if they don't get
How to stay hydrated without being overly hydrated
How much water can you drink at one time? In other words,
how much water can you drink in an hour?
> To prevent the development of hyponatremia and
potentially progression to water intoxication, it is important to:
Even during heavy sweating and exercise, limit your fluid
intake to 1–1.5 liters per hour (about 4–5 cups).
Drink according to your thirst. If you are not thirsty at
all, don't force yourself to drink water or liquids.
Strive to find a balance between what you drink and what you
sweat. Beverage the right amount of water in proportion to how much sodium you
consume and how much water you lose (through sweat, urine, etc.). Remember that
water isn't the only liquid that can cause electrolyte imbalances: herbal teas,
sports drinks, juices, etc. they can also reduce sodium levels.
Eat a balanced food that includes foods rich in water and
some sources of real sea salt.
Treat any underlying medical conditions such as intestinal
inflammation, diabetes, kidney disease or kidney failure.
Get help with mental health issues that could put you at
danger.
Take care of your adrenal glands and regularize your
cortisol level.
How much aquatic should you drink a day?
When it comes to how much water to drink a day, the most
common advice is to drink eight eight-ounce glasses of water a day. However,
this is just a general guideline and not necessarily the best amount for each
person. In fact, rendering to a 2002 review published in the American Journal
of Physiology - Regulatory, Integrative, and Comparative Physiology, there is
not much scientific evidence to support this value. (eleven)
Each person is slightly different in the amount of water
they need, but in general it's best to drink six to seven glasses, or
potentially more, a day (8 ounces per glass). You may need less if you are on a
diet high in water, with lots of fruits, salads, and vitamins. And you may need
more if you exercise frequently, live in hot climates, are sick, or eat a salty
diet. Instead of counting glasses of water, pay attention to how you are
feeling. A good way to tell if you're eating enough water every day is to pay
attention to the color of your urine: you want your urine to be generally light
yellow, not clear or too yellow. dark yellow/orange.
To get the best water to drink, I recommend using a water
filter at home rather than drinking contaminated tap water or bottled water.
Why? A three-year study by the Environment Working Group found that 316
chemicals can be found in tap water in the United States! It is best to use a
home filter because it helps to remove toxins that can get trapped in the water
supply. There are several different types of water filters, including:
jar
mixer assembly
Collector Integration
Bench Filter
Filter under the sink
Whole House Water Filter
